Adult (Sanctuary) Choir

Why do faithful members don robes and stand in the choir loft each Sunday morning? Is it because we enjoy the attention of those in attendance on Sunday mornings? No. Is it because we enjoy “performing” for the entertainment of the congregation and pastors? Most decidedly, NO. Why, then, do we do this week after week?

If you could ask each member of the choir, their response, though perhaps worded differently, would essentially be as follows: “I have decided to use my talent and love for music to serve the One who gave both to me.” Each one of us is fully aware, and reminded anew each week, that we sing for no one other than the Living God of Heaven, for whose glorification we and the congregation gather. For He alone is worthy to be praised. Giving God the glory due Him is the true meaning and true end of “worship.” Singing in the choir is a means to that true end in our worship services.
