Next week’s National Ministries Conference schedule headlines this week’s cover, as we prepare for an exciting and informative conference. Inside, you’ll see information on SHINE, the concurrent children’s conference, too. Our Every Member Commitment season is coming later this month, and this week’s article sets the table for this. Inside, you’ll see a reminder of the Christmas at the Caroline House event, Daniel Cason’s I Cared Enough outreach, and meet the folks who joined Briarwood last Sunday. There’s plenty of other announcements, too, so click to check the online version of The Weekly!
This Sunday, Pastor Reeder will bring us “Foundations #3–Lifestyle Stewardship” using I Corinthians 4:1–5. Then, at 6:00 p.m., our next Biblical Biographies: Who? Why? How? will be “Portrait #5: Deborah,” drawing on Judges 4 and 5. Come, and learn more about this “character actor” from the Bible! Click here to see the Sunday bulletin.
Our National Ministries Conference is coming October 20–21, and it will be your opportunity to hear from 17 of our Ministry Partners from around the country tell about how God is at work in our nation. Our guest speaker is Dr. Derek Thomas, who has published over 25 books and currently serves as Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Caroline. See full conference details by clicking here.
Concurrent with our National Ministries Conference October 20–21, our covenant children will have a conference of their own! Titled SHINE (for Sharing Him in Neighborhoods Everywhere), the conference will feature Ministry Partners, games, prayer walks and some surprises. K4 and K5 will experience mini-SHINE while TK–6th Grade are in the SHINE conference. Read all about this event just for kids by clicking here. And you can register your nursery and K4, K5 children here.
Once again our Women’s Ministry presents this wonderful way to begin your Advent season. With three sessions to choose over November 19 and 20, there’s sure to be a great time for you to bring a friend to hear author Holly Mackle and see the beautifully decorated Caroline House. Tickets are in the Briarwood Christian Bookstore as well as right here, online. Sessions do sell out, so get your tickets now!
The annual EMC season will be October 27–November 10, when Briarwood members will be asked to commitment their time, talent, and treasure for the Lord’s use in 2020. It is marked by a church-wide convocation service at 9:30 a.m. October 27, where we will hear how God is at work at Briarwood, Pledge Sunday on November 3, and Canvass Sunday, November 10. See further details now by clicking here.
