Don’t let the chance to bless an innocent child pass you by this Christmas season! This Sunday is the last opportunity to get an Angel Tree angel or a shoebox to fill for Operation Christmas Child. There’s a reminder about Christmas at the Caroline House coming next week, and the need for volunteers for the Walk Through Nativity, December 5–7. Inside, you’ll see poinsettia dedications and a reminder to come by the Bookstore for great gift ideas. There are lots of other very timely announcements, too, so click here to read this week’s online version, now.
We return to I Peter 3 this Sunday morning, and Pastor Reeder’s text will be from verses 18–22 and the title, “Christian Suffering and the Suffering of Christ—Part 2.” At 6:00 p.m., the pastor asks the most important question you’ll ever hear, “Where Are You?” taken from Genesis 3:1–13. Bring an unsaved friend to hear this special outreach message. Click here for the Sunday bulletin.
This Sunday, November 11 is Canvass Sunday, and those who have not submitted their commitment for 2019 or otherwise notified the church will be contacted, unless they request otherwise. If you missed the October 28 Convocation where we saw some of the ways God has used your tithe over the past year, you can click here to watch the service online. You may also want to hear Pastor Reeder’s sermon from last Sunday, which was a very interesting and informative message on the tithe.
A Briarwood tradition returns! This wonderful outreach event will be offered in three sessions this year, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. and Nov. 14 at 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Pastor Emeritus Barker’s elder daughter, Anita Barnes will speak, and then there’s the beautifully decorated (and recently remodeled) Caroline House with all its decorator ideas. Tickets are getting scarce, so click here now to order your tickets and to get more details. Or, pick your tickets up in the Bookstore.
Briarwood Christian School’s annual Christmas Shop is goin on right now, and tomorrow, November 9 from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. in the Briarwood Fellowship Hall is your last chance to participate. Admission is free, and there are door prizes. Come and find the perfect gift! Click here for more information.
Each year, Briarwood presents a gift to our community in the form of a three-night Walk Through Nativity. Here in 14 scenes, we present the story of Jesus…His foretold coming, His birth, life, death, and resurrection…the reason for the season. But we’re only able to offer this gift because of the over 900 Briarwood members who participate every year. Click here now to tell us how you would like to help bring this gift to our neighbors! And invite friends and family to come see it, December 5–7 from 6:45–8:45 p.m.
Now through December 2, you can place a poinsettia in the Worship Center in memory or honor of someone special for Christmas. Poinsettias will be used to decorate the Worship Center for services on December 16, and you will be able to take yours with you at the conclusion of the Christmas Festival that night. Look for order envelopes at the Worship Center Information Desk, on the kiosks, and in the Membership Office, or make your dedication online by clicking here.
