Dedicate in memory or honor of someone special a poinsettia plant for Christmas, and help decorate the Worship Center at the same time! Pick up an envelope on one of the kiosks, or go online here to make your dedication. The deadline is Dec. 6, and you may pick up your plant after the Choir Concert on Dec. 20.
LOVE CAME DOWN AT CHRISTMAS ADVENT DEVOTIONAL
Pastor Reeder recommends these 24 daily readings from I Corinthians 13 by Sinclair Ferguson, with a perspective centered on the arrival to earth of love itself: Christ. Call the Bookstore to purchase at 205-776-5210, or email email@example.com. Quantity is limited, so call or email soon!
Yes…we will have a Nativity this year, but for safety reasons, it will be a Drive-Through instead of a Walk-Through. So mark your calendars now for December 9–11, and plan on your family’s participation in this wonderful church-wide event. And let your friends know it’s coming, too! Yard signs and postcards are available at church exits now. Briarwood members click here now to volunteer to serve in the Drive Through.
Briarwood families are invited to register their children and grandchildren for an interactive Children’s box from the Children’s Ministry, to accompany our Advent lesson that will be presented in an online video. Click here by Sun., Dec. 13 to register for your box.
The Briarwood Music and Drama Ministries will present our annual Christmas Concert Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 20 at 6:00 p.m. With favorites like “Breath of Heaven” and “In the First Light” along with choruses from Messiah and more. Live actors will depict the message in the music. There is no admission charge, but reservations will be required and will open Nov. 30. Click here for details! Make your Nursery reservations here.
CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICES
Make plans now to attend one of the five Candlelight services that will be offered Dec. 24. Family Candlelight services will be at 3:00, 5:00 and 7:00 p.m., while Communion Candlelight services will be celebrated at 9:00 and 11:00 p.m. All of these services end with the Worship Center bathed in the glow of candlelight. Truly a wonderful Christmas memory! Reservations will be required and will open Dec. 7. Nursery will be available by reservation for only the three Family services.
WORSHIP CENTER ROOFING PROJECT
We have begun the process of replacing the Worship Center Roofing System. Join us in prayer for the safety of the workers and the quality of workmanship. For your protection please do not enter the fenced areas, and your patience during this season of renovation to our Worship Center is appreciated.
COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVE
The Briarwood Community Food Drive continues, and the Mercy Ministry and Christian Service Mission is most grateful for your support since last spring. The need still exists, so please continue to bring non-perishable foods to the marked trailer now located in Parking Lot B, Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., and Sundays 7:45 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Briarwood is now implementing our Interim Ministry/Worship Plan D. This next phase is offering more opportunities for Children’s Worship, Nursery, Youth and Congregational Communities. For details, click here.
