Briarwood’s schedule of services and concerts for the coming Holy Week highlights this week’s front panel, and Pastor Reeder describes this special week in the article of the week. There’s reminders of both upcoming concerts this Sunday night and the next, a reminder to shop for Easter goodies in the Bookstore, and a reminder of the upcoming Student Apologetics Conference. Add 20 or so other announcements and our usual prayer and Briarwood Family information, and you’ll want to check this week’s edition, now.
Pastor Reeder returns this Sunday morning to open John 12:12–26 with the message, “The Triumphal Entry and the Moment is Now” as we examine Holy Week in Biblical Perspective. Click here to read this Sunday’s Worship Bulletin.
THE PASSION OF CHRIST
What better way to be prepared for the Week of Passion than attending a special offering of Bach’s beloved St. John Passion, this Sunday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m.? This presentation will include the Briarwood Chancel Choir, Chamber Ensemble, guest soloists and dramatists, and the Briarwood Chamber Orchestra. There is no admission fee, and you can read more about the presentation here. Please make nursery reservations here, as well.
HOLY WEEK, MARCH 25–APRIL 1
Palm Sunday, March 25 through Easter Sunday, April 1 is when all Christians remember our Lord’s suffering, death, and resurrection. At Briarwood, we mark this special time with concerts and worship services throughout the week. Click here and review the entire week’s schedule, and make plans now to join us for all the worship opportunities. Don’t forget to let the Nursery know you’re coming, too; just click here and make your reservations for both Sunday nights and Thursday night.
Easter Sunday evening, April 1 at 6:00 p.m., Briarwood welcomes the elegant classic/folk psalms and hymns of the Wixtroms. Amy is a professional folk harpist, singer, and songwriter; her husband Gary is a singer, guitarist, percussionist and producer. They lead worship concerts throughout the United States, and often lead music at the Voice of the Martyrs conferences. Don’t miss this wonderful way to end your Easter celebration! PASTOR’S INQUIRERS’ CLASS
If you desire to learn more about Briarwood Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Church in America, or Christianity itself…or maybe you’d like to meet Pastor Reeder…the Pastor’s Inquirers’ Class is just for you. The next class begins April 8, and you can read more about it, as well as register by clicking here. Attending the PIC class does not require you to join the church, but you have to attend before you can join.
We’ve assembled all the messages from the Conference in one place if you’d like to hear one you missed or want to hear one again. Just click here for the conference archives. You’ll be able to review all nine messages that were heard throughout the week, from Dr. Willson, Dr. Reeder and Pastor Wintersteen.
