Briarwood Presbyterian Church is seeking to hire a full-time director for its Fellows program. Fellows is a nine-month annual program involving approximately 12 Christian recent colleges graduates. Its purpose is to equip them to start their careers well by integrating their life in vocation, church, family, and culture seamlessly. The program includes theological training, paid internships, rich community, ministry involvement, discipleship mentoring and individual vocational assessments. Graduates of the program are thereby enabled to discern God’s calling on their lives as servant leaders. The Fellows director must be a college graduate, faithfully committed to the local church and reformed theology. They must be passionate in mentoring by example in both leadership and disciple making. Relational recruiting for each subsequent class is required while the current class is directed and overseen. Local Mobilization Pastor
Briarwood Presbyterian Church, PCA, is seeking a Local Mobilization Pastor. The Local Mobilization Pastor will be an experienced pastoral leader and champion for local ministry outreach. He will lead Briarwood’s Local Ministry Team in mobilizing Briarwood members to serve the Birmingham community through our ministry partnerships. He will either be ordained or ordainable in the PCA. Singles Pastor
Briarwood Presbyterian Church is seeking to hire a full-time Singles Pastor to provide leadership and oversight for this ministry in our 4000+ member church. He will develop and oversee this ministry in order to help meet the needs of the single adults in their 20s-30s at Briarwood as well as train and equip them for ministry and service in the church and community. He also serves as a shepherd to our single adults in their Sunday School Community. He will be a member of the Ministries Team consisting of staff responsible for Children, Youth, College, Singles, Worship, Women, and Evangelism and Discipleship ministries. Director, Senior High Ministry
This person will implement and oversee a complete ministry to Senior High students including: personal ministry, programming, volunteer recruiting and development, discipling, assisting parents, and developing and participating in a shepherding plan for the church’s High School students. In addition, this person is responsible for recruiting, training, and overseeing the four youth ministry staff. This position reports to the Family Pastor and ministers alongside the senior high staff. Executive Director, CMMA
The Christian Medical Ministry of Alabama (CMMA) is a ministry of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, PCA. The primary responsibility of the Executive Director for CMMA is to direct, coordinate, and participate in multiplying disciples in the context of a movement which impacts the environment of the healthcare community in Birmingham, Alabama and beyond with the Gospel. Major responsibilities include providing spiritual direction to healthcare students on campus and to practitioners in the community through individual discipleship and small group studies, prioritizing missions through conference/guest speakers and coordinating various trips each year, raising needed support for the ministry to function effectively, providing training and oversight to staff associates, as well as serving on the Briarwood Staff Leadership Team. The CMMA Executive Director reports directly to the Pastor of Board Directed Ministries who represents the leadership of the Senior Pastor of Briarwood, and he also is accountable to the Session of the church and to the Executive Board of CMMA. Special Connections is seeking a part-time person to work primarily on Sunday mornings from 7:45 a.m.–10:45 a.m., to care for teens and adults with autism or developmental disabilities. It may also include some Sunday nights and Wednesday nights on an as-needed basis. The care could potentially be physically demanding. The ideal candidate is someone with a love for Christ and to serve others with disabilities. They would need to have the necessary experience, training and skills to provide quality care.
