Campus Outreach

Campus Outreach is an interdenominational ministry targeting small college campuses in the Southeastern United States and throughout the world. Founded in 1978 at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, our vision is to “Build Laborers on the Campus for the Lost World.” We build laborers with a commitment to the Great Commission, through evangelism and discipleship. We are passionately reaching students with the gospel and training them to the point of maturity in their walks with God. Our desire is to see students leave college equipped for the work of ministry and ready to labor in the harvest field for the glory of God! CAMPUS OUTREACH BIRMINGHAM

Campus Outreach is actually made up of 27 independent “franchises” throughout the world. Once a franchise grows large enough, it launches new staff members to a new campus in another location. From there, Campus Outreach seeks out a local church to “adopt” Campus Outreach as its college ministry. Once a church agrees and after a period of testing and transition, the new host church assumes all authority and oversight for that franchise. So, in essence, Campus Outreach is a collection of the 20 college ministries of individual churches which share a common vision and strategy but with no central headquarters or central authority.

Campus Outreach Birmingham, or COB, was the first Campus Outreach franchise, and is currently still under the authority of Briarwood Presbyterian Church. If you are looking for information specific to Campus Outreach at Briarwood, please visit the COB website.
