We feel deeply blessed to be celebrating our 45th year at Briarwood Ballet!
Founded by Barbara Barker in 1980, Briarwood Ballet has been serving Briarwood Presbyterian Church and Birmingham, AL by offering quality instruction in classical ballet and dance education through a Christ-centered environment.
During Briarwood Ballet’s first year, Mrs. Barker taught around 45 students in a church nursery room. Since then we have grown enormously, with 5 beautiful dance studios and over 400 students enrolled this year. Our incredible faculty train our students to be creative, confident and excellent as they dance, but most importantly, they aim to instill in their students a desire to use their talents to glorify God.
This year, we celebrate…
45 years of excellent dance training.
45 years of discipleship through dance.
45 years of community.
45 years of sharing the Gospel through dance.
45 years of the Lord’s faithfulness.
45 years of Briarwood Ballet.

We loved our classes with Mrs. Laura at 119!
“Still Waters is inspired by Psalm 23. This has always been my favorite passage in the Bible. I find my lifelong pursuit of peace is contrasted against the valley of the shadow of death. The longer I follow Christ the more I realize that finding peace can often come more powerfully in the valley than even by the still waters. This speaks to the impact of God’s presence and how it transforms our lives, regardless of our circumstances.” -Kevin Jenkins
