Frequently Asked Questions about Briarwood Ballet’s Supervised Dressing Room Service 

Are we required to use the Dressing Room Service?

Any Briarwood Christian School (BCS) student at the north campus who is taking a dance class and comes directly from school or after-school care must use this service to comply with church policy.

Is there a deadline to sign up for Dressing Room Service?

You should enroll your child by August 28 before the first week of dance classes. This way our ladies know to pick your child up from the beginning.

Can I sign up for the service after classes start?

Once classes begin if you find that you need the service after all, you can certainly start at any time. The enrollment form is available year-round on our website.

I don’t know which ballet class my child is in, but I want to use the dressing room service. What do I do?

You can check your child’s enrollment through your Studio Director account.

Do I have to pay when I sign up my child?

Dressing Room fees are due by August 15.

Can I change my mind before classes begin? What if I don’t need the dressing room after all?

Yes, of course! Just let us know. If you have paid for the service, we will credit your account with the amount.

Will you help my child change?

We strongly recommend that you help your child practice getting dressed for ballet independently. We do help the younger children, especially at the beginning of the year, but the more they are able to do for themselves, the better it is for everyone.

Where does my child go after Ballet?

Briarwood School after-school programming, parent pickup at dressing room before 5:00 p.m., or Ministries lobby after 5:00 p.m.

What if I am late picking up my child (after 5:00?)

If there is an emergency that keeps you from picking your child on time, please call the office as soon as you can and let us know. Leave a voicemail if we don’t pick up. We do not have extra staff to wait with your child at your normal pick-up location.

What if the school lets out early?

Ballet still runs a regular schedule and offers dressing room service for any student in after-school care. If there is no after-school care, there is no Dressing Room Service.

If early dismissal is due to inclement weather, the Ballet makes its own decision about canceling classes, but Dressing Room Service would not run if after-school care is not running.

My child will not be at school today and will not need to be picked up. What should I do?

Please use the online Student Absentee Form on our website to let us know before the time we would pick up your child so we know not to look for her. Otherwise, call or email the Ballet office to let us know so we can pass that on to our Dressing Room Supervisors.

What if something changes in my child’s schedule during the year?
