Disaster Relief

In light of the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, we want to offer some options to support and bring relief to the many people affected. Briarwood is partnering with MNA’s Disaster Relief Regional Director Mike Kennamer and Samaritan’s Purse. Here are ways you can serve below:

  1. Pray — First and foremost.
  2. Give to Helene Relief   One hundred percent of these funds given will be spent on response to the storm. Click here to give.
  3. Go  MNA’s Disaster Relief has set up sites to go and help.
    • One  site is  in Augusta, Georgia. The main work currently is chainsaw work to remove trees from houses, cars, and driveways. To learn more about the Augusta site, contact Mike Kennamer. You will need to register in advance to work at a site. If you would like to get a team together to work at a site,  contact Sherry Lanier to schedule your trip.
    • Other sites in Western North Carolina will be opened soon.
    • Individuals, families, and teams are needed to work in the MNA Disaster Relief warehouse in Rome, Georgia, that will be receiving and distributing supplies to these sites.  RSVP online if you would like to serve in the warehouse.
  4. Donate Relief Supplies — A lot of people have asked about donating supplies. Go to the MNA Warehouse website and  scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the list of current needs.
  5. Join — We are also partnering with Samaritan’s Purse. Go to Samaritans Purse to learn how to volunteer.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea. Psalm 46:1-2
