Description
Our Children’s Catechism Visuals are perfect for helping children learn essential Bible truths in very accessible ways. The 150 questions of the catechism are divided into three sets of flashcards. Each contains 50 cards with questions on the front and answers on the back.
The first set of flashcards includes Questions 1–50 and covers these Bible fundamentals:
- Who God is
- Creation and Adam’s and Eve’s fall into sin
- An introduction to the covenant of works and the covenant of grace
- Understanding sin and its effects
- How the Holy Spirit works to change the heart
These topics contain big theological truths, and our cards help anchor memory work. The engaging visuals keep both the learner and the teacher motivated.
The first set of 50 questions is appropriate for use with children as early in life as possible. Reading the questions and answers aloud to babies, toddlers, and those with limited language skills will begin to imprint these truths on their hearts. This will lay an excellent foundation for emerging language skills. By age two, children are ready to begin memorizing the answers to the questions.
In the Children’s Catechism Visuals, learners will encounter pre-reading words in a unique font and style. Using these as sight words will help emerging readers begin to recognize words in their own Bibles. Pre-reading words in Questions 1-50 are God, Bible, Holy Spirit, Sin, Sins, Jesus, Christ, and Lord Jesus Christ.
Adapted teaching suggestions are included for students with learning differences, language disorders, or who are nonverbal.
The Children’s Catechism Visuals are based on the text of the First Catechism (© 2003, Great Commission Publications, used by permission). Read the full list of 150 questions and answers.
