Rev. Al Jackson, Senior Pastor at Lakeview Baptist Church in Auburn, joins us this Sunday, August 3 in the morning services with his message “The High Cost of Following Jesus” from Luke 9:57–62. Briarwood’s own Bruce Stallings delivers the evening message, “The Christian Life for Dummies,” using Colossians 3:1–17 as his source text.

POVERTY SIMULATIONpoverty simulation

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to survive material poverty? The Urban Ministry in conjunction with Alabama Possible will have an interactive Poverty Simulation to help participants understand the challenges faced by individuals in our community who are living at or below the poverty level. CANNED FOOD DRIVECanned Food Drive

Bring a box or bag of imperishable foods with you to church on Sunday, August 17, and leave them behind your vehicle. While you’re in church or Sunday School, the Mercy Ministry will collect them to benefit Oak Mountain Missions. What a great way to show Christ’s love!

Briarwood Christian School commemorates 50 years of ministry with a kickoff celebration Sunday, August 17 at 6:00 p.m. in the Worship Center. Testimonials from church and school leaders, reflections from parents and alumni, as well as performances by the High School Show Choir and Narrow Way Kids will all combine to make this a great evening you won’t want to miss!
