THE BRIARWOOD WEEKLY ONLINE
November 30 is the first Sunday in Advent, and Pastor Reeder begins his series, The Advent Names of the Redeemer with “You Shall Call His Name Jesus” from Matthew 1:18–21 in the morning services. At 6 p.m., we continue Contending and Defending the Faith with “Biblical Sexuality and the Contemporary Agenda of Sexual Anarchy,” from I Corinthians 7:1–5.
Now there’s no reason to miss Sunday worship when you’re away! You can listen to either the 8:00 or 10:55 service online at playwljr.com, or watch the 10:55 live at briarwood.org/livetv. If you miss the service, you can always watch the previous Sunday at briarwood.org/archivetv.
The first Sunday in December will be marked by a canned (and non-perishable) food drive. Bring your non-perishables in a bag or box on Sunday morning and leave them behind your vehicle. They will be picked up while you are in church or Sunday School to benefit our local Love in Action Ministry.
Sunday nights throughout the fall our covenant children work hard to learn their program for the annual Christmas Concert. Be sure to plan on coming December 7 at 6:00 p.m. to hear these precious ones sing of the birth of their Savior in “What Can I Give Him?”

Briarwood Ballet presents “The Wonders of His Love,” December 14 at 6:00 p.m. Featured will be Ballet Exaltation, Immanuel, and Ballet II and III. This concert of dance promises to be a unique and joyful celebration of the birth of Christ as traditional and contemporary carols are beautifully displayed under the artistic direction of Kenneth Tolle. During the recent conference held at Briarwood by Westminster Theological Seminary, much was spoken about the present condition of church and state in America, including details of how we got here, where we are, and what we can do as Christians moving forward. Now you can hear the entire conference online. It is also available on CD in the Bookstore.
