As we celebrate Communion this Sunday in the morning services, Pastor Reeder will use I Corinthians 11:17–34 to present “Preparing for the Lord’s Supper.” Remember that an alms offering for the Mercy Ministry will be taken in both services…just designate your check for “Mercy Ministry” if you’d like to contribute. Then join us on the soccer field for the annual Church Picnic at 3:00 p.m. Details below.
Come one, come all this Sunday, April 26 for Briarwood’s annual Church Picnic, with bluegrass music, inflatables, volleyball and fellowship for all! It all begins at 3:00 p.m. on the church Soccer Field, then moves to the Fellowship Hall at 5:30 p.m. for a delicious barbeque dinner. The final session of evangelism and discipleship training by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association will be offered at Briarwood, April 27 from 7:00–9:00 p.m. in the Worship Center. All are invited to participate, and there is no charge for this training.

Get your questions ready and join us that evening right after the Fellowship Dinner to get a better grasp on what the Word of God has to say regarding the end times.
Once again Briarwood opens its Chapel from 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7 for the National Day of Prayer. Prayer guides will be available, and all are encouraged to come by at your convenience during the day to lift our country in prayer. A preparatory prayer service will be led by Rev. June 8 through July 25, Camp Briarwood will be making summer memories for kids entering grades 1–8 in the fall. There are day camps, overnight camps…even camp for kids with special needs. For over 50 years Camp Briarwood has been helping children grow in their relationship with God and others. Here it comes again…the popular Briarwood Flea Market, conducted by the Women of the Covenant Ministry. The 7th annual staging of the event will be July 24 and 25, with vendor registration opening May 1. Click here to read all about it. There’s opportunities to serve in many different capacities, too. Briarwood Christian School celebrates its 50th Anniversary with a beautiful commemorative book with pictures and facts illustrating God’s hand in the school’s founding and development through the years. The book is available in the Briarwood Bookstore as well as online by clicking here.
Our guest speaker for this year’s Celebration on June 28 will be the renown physician, Dr. Ben Carson. Dr. Carson is a noted author, and at age 33 became the youngest doctor in the history of John Hopkins Hospital to serve as Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery. While not an elected public official, Dr. Carson has throughout the years provided an effective voice in speaking to matters of public policy with a biblical world and life view.
