Dr. Bill Hay joins us this Sunday, July 27 in the morning services with his message “The Runaway” from Jonah 1:1–4. Dr. Hay, who retired as Senior Pastor at Covenant Presbyterian in 2011, founded along with Dr. Barker Birmingham Theological Seminary, and has recently returned to teaching there. Sunday evening the Briarwood Ballet brings us a special concert of dance, “Thy Kingdom Come,” described below.
Come “shop ’til you drop” at the annual Flea Market, July 25 and 26, this year to benefit Foundations Early Learning and Family Center. Everyone is invited to come and find your treasure amidst other’s old treasures. It’s two days of non-stop fun and shopping excitement, all for a worth cause. Briarwood Ballet presents two nationally-known dance groups, Hosanna Sacred Arts and Ballet Exaltation coming together this Sunday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the Worship Center for “Thy Kingdom Come.” This premier work focuses on the heart’s longing for God’s Kingdom to come “on earth as it is in heaven.” A freewill offering will be received.
Area High Schoolers are invited to come together for Briarwood Youth Group’s annual Impact Weekend, August 1–3…an entire weekend that will IMPACT your life and help you IMPACT others for Christ. There are many different activites, both at The Barn as well as in members’ homes. Registration for the event is needed by July 27, so click here now and prepare for a life-changing time!
Men of the Covenant’s summer small groups meet Wednesdays at 6:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. The early class is looking at “Every Man’s Battles—Common Struggles for Men,” while the later one is examining Cold Case Christianity by J. The Urban Ministry in conjunction with Alabama Possible will have an interactive Poverty Simulation to help participants understand the challenges faced by individuals in our community who are living at or below the poverty level.
