This Sunday morning (April 27) we will partake of the Lord’s Supper, and Pastor Reeder will examine this in Biblical Perspective with the message, ”Looking in Five Directions” using I Corinthians 11 as his text. Then Sunday afternoon you’re invited to our annual church picnic…details are in the next window.

Come one, come all to Briarwood’s annual Church Picnic, April 27 from 3 to 7 p.m.! A fun time to be had for all, members and non-members, as we have inflatables, facepainting, Bluegrass music and a delicious barbeque dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30. Cost is $5 a plate, with a $20 max per family.

Please bring non-perishable foods in bags or boxes with you to church the morning of April 27 and place them behind your vehicle for pickup while you are in morning worship or Sunday School. Your donations will be used by the Mercy Ministry to benefit Daniel Cason Ministries. A card acknowledging your gift will be left on your vehicle. Thank you!


NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYERNDoP

Briarwood observes the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 1, by opening the Chapel for prayer 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There is also a Prayer Service at noon in the Chapel, led by Bruce Stallings. Prayer Guides are at the Info Stations around the church to aid your prayer time both at home and in the Chapel that day. Make this a priority on May 1, and lift our nation up before the Lord!

Next Sunday evening, May 4 at 6:00 p.m., the Chancel Choir and Festival Orchestra will present an evening of sacred choral and instrumental music. Featured will be master composers Mendelssohn, Bach and Christiansen, as well as current renowned composers Mack Wilberg, Dan Forrest and Dan Goeller. No admission; bring a friend!

Here it comes…2014 VBS at Briarwood! June 2–6, from 9:00 a.m. to noon each day. This year, we’ll be learning about “The Fruit of the Spirit” and our missions offering will support the Birmingham chapter of AMBUCS.
