Holy Week, or the Week of Passion, is that period of time between Christ’s entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and the celebration of His resurrection the following Easter Sunday. With additional services Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunrise, plus the special concert to close out Easter Sunday, you’ll want to review and make your plans for this very special time on the Christian’s calendar. Internationally-known, Christian recording artist Larnelle Harris returns to Briarwood this Easter Sunday. Mr. Harris will sing in both the 8:00 and 10:55 morning services, then join with the Briarwood Chancel Choir and Festival Orchestra in a presentation of the modern oratorio, Saviour, at 6:00 p.m. All are invited to this free concert, a wonderful way to finish your Easter Sunday celebration! In preparation for Franklin Graham’s August visit for the Greater Birmingham Festival of Hope, three nights of evangelism training by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association will be offered at Briarwood, April 13, 20 and 27. Training will be 7:00–9:00 p.m. in the Worship Center. There is no charge for this special training.
JOHN CROYLE VISITS BRIARWOOD
John Croyle, founder of Big Oak Ranch and member of the 1973 Alabama National Championship football team, comes to Briarwood April 14 at 9:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall for a Breakfast Seminar on grandparenting. Mark down Sunday, April 26 for Briarwood’s annual Church Picnic, with bluegrass music, inflatables, volleyball and fellowship for all! It all gets underway at 3:00 p.m. on the church Soccer Fields, then moves to the Fellowship Hall for a delicious barbeque dinner.
